This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and protection of Users’ Personal Data in the Sharia Life Insurance application (“Application”). This policy is established in accordance with Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, regulations of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Sharia principles.

2. Definitions

“Personal Data” refers to any data relating to an identified or identifiable individual, either directly or indirectly, through electronic or non-electronic systems.

3. Types of Personal Data Collected

The Personal Data that may be collected through the Application includes:

  • Identity data (such as name, identification number, date of birth);
  • Contact data (such as address, phone number, and email address);
  • Participant and policy data;
  • Transaction and claim data;
  • Technical application usage data as required for security and service improvement.

4. Purpose of Personal Data Processing

Personal Data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Registration and participant verification;
  • Policy and fund management in accordance with Sharia life insurance contracts;
  • Claims handling and insurance benefit services;
  • Fulfillment of legal obligations and regulatory reporting;
  • Service quality improvement and system security.

5. Legal Basis and Consent

Personal Data processing is conducted based on the User’s consent and/or other lawful bases in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. By using the Application, the User declares that they have read, understood, and agreed to the processing of Personal Data under this Privacy Policy.

6. Sharia Principles in Data Processing

The processing of Personal Data upholds the principles of justice, trustworthiness, prudence, and transparency, and does not conflict with Sharia principles under the supervision of the Sharia Supervisory Board.

7. Disclosure of Personal Data

Personal Data may be disclosed to third parties cooperating with the Company, including technology service providers, reinsurance companies, and other relevant parties, to the extent necessary for legitimate purposes, carried out in a limited manner, and in compliance with applicable laws and Sharia principles.

8. Data Security and Confidentiality

The Company implements reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

9. User Rights as Data Subjects

Users have the right to:

  • Obtain information regarding the processing of their Personal Data;
  • Access and correct their Personal Data;
  • Withdraw consent as permitted by applicable laws;
  • Submit complaints regarding Personal Data processing.

The exercise of these rights shall be conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Personal Data will be retained for as long as necessary for processing purposes and in accordance with applicable laws. When no longer required, Personal Data will be deleted or destroyed in accordance with established procedures.

11. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any material changes will be notified to Users through the Application.

12. Closing

By using the Application, Users agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. This policy forms an integral part of the Application’s terms and conditions.
